Install GABBI on Windows

These instructions apply to the GABBI 0.3.0 Windows x64 package.

1. Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (x64).
  • A processor with AVX2 support.
  • At least 22 GB free if the ZIP, extracted folder, and installed models are on one drive. The ZIP is 6,797,105,624 bytes (6.8 GB); the extracted package is 6,797,240,313 bytes.

2. Download

Start an eligible 14-day Monthly trial with card validation (€0 now, then €29/month before applicable tax; final total and date in Polar checkout), or purchase another plan. With a live trial or paid entitlement, sign in to the dashboard and select “Download GABBI”. This downloads the complete `Gabbi_0.3.0_Windows_x64_AVX2.zip` Windows package, which is 6.8 GB. An account alone does not open the download.

Use a wired connection when possible. Keep the browser open until the download finishes.

3. Verify SHA-256

Open PowerShell in the folder containing the downloaded ZIP and run this command. Replace `<file>` with the filename.

Compare the result with the SHA-256 shown on the dashboard. For Freeze A it must match the value below exactly. If it does not match, do not extract or run the file.

certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256
059b80dd71b62d5701b3eb620390b07476370572c04ac4f023e7ff5656fa29eb

4. Extract and start

In Windows Explorer, right-click the ZIP, choose “Extract All”, and wait for extraction to finish. Do not run the installer from the ZIP viewer.

Open the extracted folder and double-click `Install-Gabbi.cmd`. Keep the folder in place while the installer verifies and copies both local models.

5. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen

If SmartScreen displays a warning, select “More info” and check the publisher line. The current Freeze A is unsigned, so Windows will show “Unknown publisher”. After a signed build is released, the publisher must be `Vladimir Bakula`.

If the file came from gabbi-nest.org, its SHA-256 matched, and the publisher line matches the build, select “Run anyway”. Do not disable SmartScreen.

OWNER SCREENSHOT PLACEHOLDER: SmartScreen dialog from the offline Windows run.

6. Import the licence

On the dashboard, select “Copy license” or “Download license file”. If you downloaded the file, open it in Notepad and copy its entire contents.

In GABBI, open Settings → Licence → Install a licence. Paste the copied text and select “Install licence”. Verification runs locally.

7. Create the first draft

Open New note, choose a template, and paste the transcript text. Select “Generate draft”. Review and edit the result before saving or exporting it.
